Pursuing an LL.M. Program after the LL.B. Program is a rewarding career choice. Blackstone Law collaborates with Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law for an LL.M. Program that delivers in-depth knowledge in a career specific area of law. Our students can choose one of the following two areas of emphasis:
- Corporate and Commercial Law
- American Law for Foreign Lawyers
- International Human Rights Law
- International and Comparative Law
- Intellectual Property Law
- Health Law, Policy and Bioethics
This program is the one and only collaboration in Pakistan which allows students to either complete the full Program in Indianapolis or spend one semester in USA and complete the rest of the Program in their home country. Either way they get a prestigious Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from a well-recognized Indiana University which is an American Bar Association approved law school in USA. If you wish to participate in Blackstone Law's collaborative program with Indiana University, you will be required to attend the Application and Visa workshops especially designed for our LL.M. applicants. All workshops will be conducted in Lahore. Blackstone Law admissions team is committed to guide you through each and every step throughout your time in this program and beyond.
The city of Indianapolis, affectionately called Indy, is the state capital of Indiana and the 12th largest city in the U.S. Indianapolis is known as The Crossroads of America because it is intersected by more interstate highways than any other city in the United States. Just a few blocks from Indiana University McKinney School of Law are the leading law firms, Statehouse that comprises of the Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of Indiana, General Assembly, Office of the Indiana Governor and many Fortune 500 companies. Indianapolis is only 1-2 hours by air from other major U.S. cities such as New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, and Denver.
Life at McKinney Law
As a student of this program, you will complete one semester of full-time study at Indiana University on an F-1 visa. At Indiana University McKinney School of Law, you will have the chance to work closely with accessible and committed faculty & staff. You will study area-specific courses and will have a wide range of elective options. Students may also avail externships, clinical courses and pro bono legal services at McKinney Law. In recent years, LL.M. students have been taught by: Justice Steven David, Indiana Supreme Court; Justice Robert D. Rucker, Indiana Supreme Court; Judge John G. Baker, Indiana Court of Appeals (former Chief Judge); and Greg Zoeller, Indiana Attorney Genera. Students will also have plenty of opportunities to socialize with current students and enjoy American holidays!
Residential Accommodation in Indianapolis
Blackstone Law provides furnished accommodation to its students for an additional fee of $400 per month. Blackstone Law accommodation is located on the West side of Indianapolis at a location close to 24-hour grocery store as well as many Pakistani/Indian markets and restaurants serving Halal food. Public transportation is conveniently accessible. Please note that we have 5 accommodation vacancies available. Therefore, early application is encouraged.
SCHOLARSHIP AND TUITION BENEFITS
Through a special agreement between Blackstone Law and McKinney Law, our students are eligible to receive up to 50% of scholarship for the whole LL.M. Program. The regular tuition cost of the LL.M. Program is $33,948 ($1,414.50 per credit hour into 24 credits). Due to Blackstone Law’s special agreement with McKinney Law your reduced tuition will be between $16974 – $25,461 plus Blackstone Law fee of $5000.
Home sweet Home – Back to the city of “zindadils”
Following your first semester (Fall semester) in Indianapolis, you have an option to return to Lahore to complete your Spring (second and the final) semester on-campus at Blackstone Law. This is, however, not a requirement. You may complete the full program in Indianapolis. If you choose to come back for the second semester, onsite in Lahore, you will continue to get online support from McKinney Law professors and in-class, face-to-face support from Blackstone Law faculty. Blackstone Law’s teaching philosophy is to conduct a learning environment that is inquiry-based, discussion-oriented and student-centered. LL.M. students are also required participate in our Law Clinic in Lahore which will prepare them to enter the legal field in Pakistan by having them perform advanced legal work.
